If you’ve had ‘a hard day’s night’ then come on out to Bragg Creek and have a blast at the upcoming Beatles Tribute Concert Friday, Nov. 7.

Calgary-based Beatles cover band All you Need is Love – Tribute to the Fab Four will bring their ‘60’s sound to the Bragg Creek Community Centre (BCCC) to help raise money for the Bragg Creek Community Association (BCCA).

“We’re looking forward to bringing a premium show to the people of Bragg Creek,” said bandleader Nathan Loo.

Loo said his band, which has been together for 12 years, performs about 60 shows a year.

They are true Beatles fans who use the same type of drums, amps, guitars and costumes that the original band used.

“We are a true tribute to the Fab Four and we are very serious about recreating the sounds of the Beatles,” said Loo. “Anyone who loves the Fab Four shouldn’t miss this show, which will take you back to the fabulous ‘60s.”

BCCC program coordinator Kelsey Baldwin said everyone who attends the concert will have a great time.

“We’re hosting this psychedelic concert for our community, so people can have a fun and enjoyable evening out,” said Baldwin. “Have a few drinks, dance and relax.”

The band will play Beatles’ hits from 1963 to 1970 during three one-hour sets with a costume change with each set.

Between sets there will be a slide show with headlines and major events that happened in the ‘60s in Bragg Creek, Calgary and all over the world.

The entire evening will be ‘60s themed from the costumes, to the decorations, which will include the decade’s best posters and banners.

“The decorations will be out of control,” said Baldwin.

There will be two prize draws with a prize for best costume, including a gift certificate for a 50 per cent discount on BCCA birthday parties and programming, retro vintage Beatles posters, other 60’s themed posters, T-shirts and free drink tickets.

“We will also have a cash bar and delicious free appetizers including meatballs, chips and salsa, popcorn, veggie cups and mini quiches,” said Baldwin.

Though the evening is definitely adult-oriented, Baldwin said children are more than welcome and that people should buy their tickets soon, as they are selling quickly.

Any profits made will go towards the BCCA’s children’s programming. Tickets are $25 for BCCA members, $35 for non-members and can be purchased in person at the BCCC, online at braggcreekca.com, or by calling 403-949-4277.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and showtime is 6:30 p.m.
