Body discovered in Airdrie identified

The person whose body was discovered in Airdrie last week has been identified, with the consent of his family.

Several RCMP vehicles pulled in to the neighbourhood of WIllow Brook on Jan. 26 after a body was discovered earlier that day.

The person whose body was discovered in Airdrie last week has been identified.

RCMP identified the man with consent of his family as 56-year-old Darrin Gehlen, of Airdrie.

His body was found in Willow Brook near a walking path on Jan. 26.

The findings of a Jan. 27 autopsy are pending laboratory results, RCMP said. 

Airdrie RCMP General Investigation Section has taken over the investigation from the Alberta Major Crimes Unit.
