Cochrane RCMP responded to a rollover on Oct. 30 at approximately 4 a.m. where two out of four passengers were ejected from the vehicle.
The vehicle had a 21-year-old male from Water Valley, a 24-year-old female from Cremona, a 21-year-old female from Calgary and a 20-year-old male.
The 20-year-old male is in critical condition after the vehicle that was travelling north on Horse Creek Road entered the east ditch then struck a guardrail and embankment causing the vehicle to become airborne.
RCMP said alcohol and speed are believed to be contributing factors.
The female driver and the other two passengers were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The collision is still under investigation.
Clown sighting in Cochrane
No jokes about Cochrane’s first clown sighting last week.
RCMP responded to reports of a clown with fake blood spotted in Sunset Heights on Oct. 28 but the ‘suspicious person’ was gone by the time RCMP got to the location.
“Use discretion, if they are not harming anyone we won’t be taking it seriously if they are just standing there,” said Const. Jennifer Brewer.
Brewer said normally people do not dress up when it’s not Halloween but also encouraged people to use “common sense” stating that if people do not want to deal with the RCMP to not dress up trying to scare people.
If anyone sees a suspicious person they can contact the Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000.
Needles in candy
RCMP received reports of sewing needles in chocolate bars this past Halloween.
One trick-or-treater reported finding sewing needles in large-sized chocolate bars in the west GlenEagles area.
“We don’t have a lot of information about it right now,” said Const. Jennifer Brewer.
Parents are encouraged to check their child’s candy and to throw out anything that has already been opened.
Vehicle stolen from Cochrane dealership
RCMP responded to a theft after a Red 2016 Jeep Patriot was stolen on Nov. 1 at approximately 5 p.m.
The two suspects arrived in a stolen green two door Dodge Dakota, licence plate BVY0342. The Jeep Patriot was stolen when the complainant left it for a short time while delivering it to a customer.
RCMP are looking for a male, about 5’10 and heavy set. The suspect was wearing a brown Carhart jacket with a hood and jeans when he drove it off the lot. Police were unable to get a description of the driver of the Dakota.
If anyone sees these vehicles occupied, RCMP advises not to approach but to call 911 right away.
If anyone sees these vehicles unoccupied call the complaint line at 403-932-2211 and do not approach or disturb it.
