Cochrane author Lynn Dove has been given a seal of approval by Literary Classics for her book Love the Wounded.

The third installment in Dove’s Wounded Trilogy, Love the Wounded is a Christian fiction novel that addressed several sensitive teen issues by following characters whose lives are intertwined through love, struggles and healing.

“I am very humbled and honoured to have my books recognized with awards,” said Dove, “but my hope is always that youth and young adults will read the books and be encouraged, especially if they are victims of bullying.”

Shoot the Wounded and Heal the Wounded make up the first two books in the Wounded Trilogy. Literary Classics is an organization that strives to recognize excellence in children’s and young-adult literature, and created the International Book Awards in an effort to achieve this goal.

The Seal of Approval is bestowed on works that uphold criteria established by Literary Classics, which is made up of a team of former publishers, editors, writers, illustrators and graphic designers.

Dove has had three of her stories published in the popular book series Chicken Soup for the Soul, currently has the book Parenthood in stores and will soon see her story Socks printed in the book Devotional Stories for Wives this month and Polar Plunge in O Canada, the Wonders of Winter in November.

But it’s the feedback from readers that touches Dove the most.

“The other day I received an email from a reader in Saudi Arabia who read my story Do Angels Wear Glasses?” said Dove, “and said that it ‘touched their heart’ and they just had to contact me.”
