Cochrane in Brief

Cowboys wrestle up fundraiser with Bottle Drive

The Cochrane Cowboys Wrestling Club is hosting a socially distanced bottle drive on Saturday (Jan. 2). A trailer will be parked on the corner of Highway 1A and Centre Avenue, at the location of the old Cochrane Public Library. Residents are asked to bring their cans and bottles to that location in support of the Club. If you are unable to make the trip, send a direct message to the Cochrane Cowboys Wrestling Club on Facebook and they will make arrangements to pick them up from your porch or curb.

Bike Cochrane Survey

Bike Cochrane has launched a survey to collect information about the cycling community in Cochrane. The Active Transportation Survey for Wheeling and Walking around Cochrane looks to collect data from cyclists and walking commuters, to help Bike Cochrane plan for future projects, like the Launchpad Bike Park which was completed in August of 2020. The survey is looking to collect information on how frequently cyclists get out on their bikes, where they ride, high-risk areas in town and the barriers riders face that stop them from getting out. The Active Transportation Survey can be found at surveymonkey.com/r/YP3WDZY/.

The Cochrane Immigrant Services Committee, the organization behind the Christmas Jingle Mingle, and the Amazing Cochrane Culture Hunt will be hosting its first-ever annual general meeting on Jan. 11, from 7 to 9 p.m. The meeting will be held digitally over Zoom.
