Yamnuska Easter Celebration

The Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary is planning a special Easter celebration for its canine residents, and they want your help to decide the special activities the pups will take part in. On Easter Sunday (April 4), the wolfdogs will be taking part in special enrichment activities like an Easter egg hunt, hunting for buried treasure or a surprise Easter basket. The top four enrichment activities will be revealed on Easter Sunday at 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Visit the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary on Facebook for more information, and to cast your vote.

Helping the food bank

The Helping Hands Society of Cochrane and Area has released it 2021 food drive dates. Each year the Helping Hands Society hosts food drives to aid the Food Bank in its efforts as it serves nearly 5,000 residents. Despite the difficult conditions for so many families in 2020, the Helping Hands Society was able to collect nearly as many donations as in previous years, despite only visiting each home once as opposed to twice. On Saturday (April 10) the Helping Hands Society will be collecting from the east central neighbourhoods of Glen Eagles, East End, Downtown, Glenbow, Riverview and Greystone. On Saturday (May 15) they will be collecting from the neighbourhoods West Valley, West Terrace, West Pointe, Heartland, Heritage Hills, Bow Meadows, Bow Ridge and Jumping Pound. North and south ends of town will be collected in the fall of 2021. Visit helpinghandscochrane.ca/ for more information.
