The Cochrane Legion, Men of Vision, Branch No. 15 invite members of the community to remember those who valiantly fought to protect and serve Canada with their annual Remembrance Day ceremony tomorrow morning.
The ceremony will start at 10:45 a.m. at the Cochrane Cenotaph with opening remarks by the master of Ceremonies, Joey Cyr, followed by the Call on Colours.
At 10:48 a.m., a rendition of O’Canada will be performed by members of the 1st and 3rd Cochrane Girl Guides, and at 10:58 a.m., The Last Post will be performed by Ryan Hart.
Two minutes of silence will be held at 11 a.m., and a Reville will be performed by Ryan Hart at 11:03 a.m. immediately after.
An Act of Remembrance will take place at 11:04 a.m., followed by a Benediction by Pastor Larry Chater at 11:05 a.m.
Laying of the Wreaths is planned to start at 11:08 a.m. When all wreaths are laid at approximately 11:20 a.m., branch members of the 1st and 3rd Cochrane Girl Guides will perform God Save the King, and upon its completion, the ceremony will end with the marching off of the Colour Guard.
Honoured guests of the ceremony include Silver Cross Mother, Leona Stock, the mother of Sapper Stephan Stock, a veteran who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2008.
Mayor Jeff Genung and Airdrie-Cochrane MLA Peter Guthrie are both expected to attend the event, and will give small speeches at the ceremony.
Banff-Airdrie MP, Blake Richards will also be in attendance, alongside Rocky View County Reeve Crystal Kissel and Deputy Reeve Don Kochan.
