Cochrane local wins $200K from scratch ticket

Cochranite Aileen Anderson started off her workday with a pleasant surprise after winning $200,000 from a scratch ticket.

In a press release by Western Canada Lottery, Anderson revealed the prize from a $7 Lucky Lines Extravaganza ticket.

While she was on a break from work, Anderson stopped at the Shoppers Drug Mart in Cochrane where she purchased her winning ticket.

“I started to scratch the tickets and when I got the second one, I saw I’d won $200,000,” she said. “I sat at my desk in shock and then I went outside for a walk to calm down.

“I couldn’t believe it. I really can’t believe I won that much!”

Although he has no plans of quitting her day job quite yet, she says the winnings will be a great start for her future plans.

“I’m going to put it all away fir my retirement,” she said. “This will really help.”
