This weekend's "River Town Jubilee" concert marks the return to indoor performances for the Cochrane Music Society's three ensembles.
The last time Band on the Bow, Choral Waves, and Riverside Jazz performed at an indoor venue it was 2019.
"We maintained social distancing during the pandemic with summertime parking lot rehearsal and concerts," reads a press release from the local music society. "Now we are back to our regular program and can't wait to share our music with you."
On Saturday, June 11, the Bow Valley Baptist Church will host the three ensembles in a concerts beginning at 7 p.m.
"Band on the Bow has chosen music with themes of inspiration, renewal, and celebration that have excited us as we emerge from the pandemic," according to the event press release.
Choral Waves' choir performance will feature songs in a variety of languages, including Hebrew, Romanian, Swahili, Zambian and English, all centered around a message of peace.
Fans of musicians Count Basie and Phil Collins are sure to enjoy Riverside Jazz's performance, which will include songs by both songwriters, according to the release, along with a bit of a history lesson – as is customary for the band.
Tickets are available at cochranemusic.ca and will also be sold at the door.
