The third annual Pride flag raising is happening at the RancheHouse Aug. 21 at 4 p.m., marking the beginning of Pride Week celebrations in Cochrane.
People of all ages are welcome to attend the event, which will also feature 2SLGBTQIA+ and Indigenous speakers from the community.
Following the flag raising, on Monday (Aug. 22), a Pride Prep Party will be held at BGC Cochrane and Area's teen drop-in, The Club, for those ages 13 to 17 from 12 to 6 p.m. The Club is located at 204 5 Ave., behind McDonald's.
Art in the Park at the Mitford Park stage will follow on Tuesday (Aug. 23) from 3 to 6 p.m. This event is also geared toward attendees ages 13 to 17. Also happening that day is the Pride edition of Own the Page, which is an open mic night at Found book store at 208 1 St. W, from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
Wednesday (Aug. 24) will mark Cochrane's first annual Pride parade from 1 to 1:45 p.m. on 1 St. in Historic Downtown. All are welcome to attend. Rocky View Brewing Company at 420 1 St. W will play host to an After Party Tea Dance from 2 to 4 p.m. for ages 18 and over and The Club's Pride edition of its Night Club event will take place from 2 to 6 p.m for ages 13 to 17.
On Thursday (Aug. 25), The Club is playing two movie titles for attendees aged 13 to 17. Everybody's Talking About Jamie will hit the screen at 1 p.m. and Love Simon will start at 4 p.m.
Rounding out the week is The Club's All Ages Drag Show happening at its 5 Ave. location in the parking lot behind McDonald's. The show will feature performances by Delilah Rosegold, Visa De'Klein, Argintina Hailey-Lawrence and Penny Tense from 5 to 7 p.m.
