Cochrane RCMP has arrested and charged a woman responsible for a rural break and enter that took place on Feb 28.
At approximately 7 p.m. that evening, Cochrane RCMP responded to a report of a rural break and enter at an estate in Rocky View County. High-end jewellery and handbags were stolen, and video surveillance captured a lone female suspect breaking into the home.
The investigation was taken over by the Cochrane RCMP Crime Reduction unit. With assistance from the Southern Alberta District’s Criminal Intelligence Analyst and Calgary Police Services, it led to a suspect being identified.
A search warrant was executed in Calgary on March 3 and over $15,000 worth of stolen handbags were recovered along with fraudulent credit card manufacturing equipment.
As a result, from the search warrant, a 37-year-old resident from Calgary, Janna Interman, was arrested and charged with break and enter, and theft over $5,000. Interman was released to appear in court on April 4, in Cochrane.
