A police incident on Christmas Eve in the Fireside neighbourhood in Cochrane ended in the arrest of a man in his 30s.
Cochrane RCMP were initially called to a home in the Cochrane community around 5:10 p.m. on Dec. 24 for an uttering-threats incident.
Mounties responded to a home in the area of Fireside Bend and set up a containment area, issuing a stay-in-place order for nearby residents.
The Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services also responded to the incident.
Some neighbouring residents were evacuated by police as a safety precaution.
Police established communication with the man in question and he was taken into custody after leaving the home around 8:40 p.m.
The man, who is in his 30s, was arrested and taken to the local detachment by police. He will be held in custody until he appears before a judge.
More details may be released when charges are laid before the courts, RCMP said in a statement.
