Numerous charges have been laid on three individuals in a Cochrane RCMP Crime Reduction Unit investigation.

Following a March 24 arrest of a "prolific offender," who was found to be in possession of a forged cheque, RCMP opened a subsequent investigation which has led to the identification and charging of three other offenders for multiple property offences.

Christopher Clark, 37, of no fixed address, was charged with three counts of breaking and entering, three counts of mail theft, five counts of possession of property obtained by crime, three counts of fraud and four counts of failure to comply with conditions of release order.

Warrants have been issued for Clark's arrest, as his whereabouts are currently unknown to RCMP.

Clark is described as being 5'9," 119 pounds, with brown hair, blue eyes and a light complexion.

Shaylene McCauley, 23, of Didsbury, was also charged in the investigation with three counts of breaking and entering, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of failure to comply with conditions of a release order and one count of mail theft.

McCauley was released from custody following a judicial release hearing and is expected to appear in Cochrane Provincial Court June 28.

Cory Ryan Davies, 45, of Olds, was charged with 10 offences including possession of break and enter instruments and two counts of failure to comply with release orders.

Davies' charges have been dealt with in court.

“Crime Reduction Units are an important part of Alberta RCMP’s Crime Reduction Strategy. They reduce the impact of crime in communities across Alberta by identifying repeat crime trends and targeting repeat offenders.” said inspector Dave Brunner, detachment commander of the Cochrane RCMP in a press release.

“This investigation shows how the Cochrane Crime Reduction Unit uses their knowledge of local crime trends and offenders to disrupt crime in our community and further the RCMP’s goal of ensuring safe homes and safe communities throughout Alberta."

Those with information on Clark's whereabouts are asked to contact Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, to provide a tip anonymously.
