Cochrane reports 39 active cases of COVID-19

As of the end of the day Wednesday (March 10) there were a reported 39 active cases of COVID-19 in Cochrane. To date, 364 cases of the virus have been identified in the town— Two people have died and 323 people have recovered.

COCHRANE— The number of active COVID-19 cases in Cochrane has increased by three.

As of the end of the day Wednesday (March 10) there were a reported 39 active cases of COVID-19 in Cochrane. To date, 364 cases of the virus have been identified in the town— Two people have died and 323 people have recovered.

Three schools in the region are reporting multiple cases of COVID-19. Bow Valley High School has reported an outbreak of 10 or more cases, Cochrane High School is on alert for a reported two to four cases of COVID-19 and Elizabeth Barrett Elementary School is on alert for two to four cases of the virus.

In the last 24 hours, the province has identified 364 new cases of COVID-19 in Alberta after the completion of about 10,200 tests.

The provincial testing positivity rate currently sits at four per cent.

There are 259 COVID-related hospitalizations in the province, including 38 intensive care admissions.

In the last 24 hours, five new deaths have been reported to the province. To date, 1,933 people have died.

The province has administered more than 317,500 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and more than 91,000 Albertans have been fully immunized with two doses.

There are currently 4,488 active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta.
