Cochrane's Altitude FMX and Auto Show makes return on Sept. 1

On September 1, Cochrane will be the site of a high-flying, adrenaline-pumping, motorsport extravaganza that follows the same event last year that left spectators breathless.

On September 1, Cochrane will be the site of a high-flying, adrenaline-pumping, motorsport extravaganza that follows the same event last year that left spectators breathless.

The 2025 Cochrane Altitude FMX and Auto Show returns to town for a one day event jam packed with a car show, beer tent and live music, food trucks, a silent auction, and a FMX auto show featuring Cochrane’s own FMX rider Cody Matechuk.

The nitro-fueled day will take place at Cochrane’s House of Cars and will begin with the arrival of the car show participants at 12:30 pm, followed by the auto show and opening up of food trucks and the Rocky View Brewing Company beer tent and the commencement of live music with a performance by The Earl Morgan Band at 2:00 pm.

Attendees to the Altitude FMX and Auto Show will also be treated to a meet-and-greet with adoptable animals with Garcia Rescue from 2 to 5 pm. A silent auction inside House of Cars will begin shortly after that, followed by a dog-only participant Dolly Pops Eating Contest at 3pm, and the big ticket item–the FMX show where riders fly their motorbikes through the air like circus acrobats–at 5 pm.

The event is being put on in partnership with Cruise Cochrane, an automobile collectors club that operates in Cochrane, and all proceeds from the day's festivities, like the slime auction, will go towards benefiting the Cochrane Search and Rescue.

The Altitude FMX and Auto Show is the brainchild of several Cochrane-based organizations, including Cruise Cochrane, Cochrane’s House of Cars, Urban Casual–the Cochrane-area event website–and Alien Autos. Many other Cochrane businesses and groups are also involved with the sponsors partnership, making the Auto Show a truly community affair.

Other activities at the Altitude FMX and Auto Show include face painting, live animals, video game highest score competitions, hair-cutting by donation (called Shears for You) and a colouring contest.

Last year's show was the first of its kind to be offered in Cochrane, and this year marks the return of an event that is sure to attract a lot of attention.
