A local group is looking to get some fresh ideas from Cochrane’s youngest sitting councillor on the outlook of Alberta’s economy.

Morgan Nagel will be the featured guest for the next Cochrane Ideas session, happening this Friday (May 8) at King Solomon Lodge at 7 p.m.

Nagel will be speaking on a topic Cochrane Ideas has titled, ‘The Crash is Coming: A glimpse into the ugly future of our broken economic policies.’

The 24-year-old councillor currently works at the Manning Centre, a conservative think-tank located in Calgary. Nagel also holds a degree in economics from the University of Calgary.

Andy Marshall of Cochrane Ideas said everyone is welcome to attend the session, which, in addition to Nagel’s talk, will include a discussion, questions from those in attendance and comments on the topic.

Since being elected to his first term last year, Coun. Nagel has not shied away from speaking his mind, both publicly and to his fellow councillors.

Cochrane Ideas has been operating for 15 years and has offered area residents a wide range of topics for discussion since its inception.
