The search for missing camper Nicholas Hoefnagels continues after the body of Stephen Thomson was located July 4, according to Kimberley RCMP.

Hoefnagels, of Cochrane, and Thomson, of Canal Flats, B.C., were reported missing in Canal Flats June 9. Their truck was located near Findlay Creek Falls June 24.

Thomson’s body was found in Findlay Creek, about 10-km downstream from the truck.

“The search for Nicholas Hoefnagels is by no means over,” said Sgt. Laurie Jalbert of Kimberley RCMP. “At this point in time, the best bet is to have the dog’s nose out there searching.”

An RCMP helicopter is monitoring the area as well. Jalbert said Findlay Creek has been searched by helicopter from where the truck was found to the Kootenay River — an area of about 190km.
