A Redwood Meadows contractor must prove to a Calgary provincial court judge that he doesn’t owe three former clients a total of $47,000 in restitution.
Kieron Warren, 39, appeared in court Jan. 29. He will be back before judge Heather Lamoureaux on Feb. 21, at which time she will impose an order that will force Warren to pay restitution to those clients, who paid him thousands of dollars during 2007 and 2008 and never had work finished on their kitchens. Warren’s lawyer is arguing that the value of work completed should be deducted from the $47,000.
Warren previously pleaded guilty to five breaches of the province’s Fair Trading Act while he was operating Hillcrest Renovations. He admitted to accepting advance payments despite not having a licence and not providing a refund upon cancellation.
