Couple plans new church for Cochrane

Lead pastors and married couple Kyle and Brittany Hoetmer hope to start the Cause Church with the help from the community, to be opened by 2016.

Lead pastors and married couple Kyle and Brittany Hoetmer hope to start the Cause Church with the help from the community, to be opened by 2016.

“Our heart is to build a thriving local church, that not only teaches the eternal truths of the Word of God but mobilizes individuals and family to live them out in their everyday lives,” according to the Cause website.

“Our goal is to create a fun, loving, faith filled community that will help people flourish and become all that God has designed them to be.”

Their website said Kyle was inspired to plant a church after God spoke to him and as the couple were trying to decide where to go. They were driving home from holidays in B.C. and, as they drove through Cochrane, Kyle and Brittany made the decision to start their church in the local community.

The couple is looking for 35 people to “help make this vision a reality.”

Kyle graduated from the pastoral leadership stream at Hillsong International Leadership College and has since been serving his home church, the New Life Church in Rocky Mountain House. And Brittany was born into a pastor’s family from Chilliwack, B.C., and has spent the past couple years serving as a church administrator for the New Life Church.

There will be two Interest Hangouts at the Cochrane RancheHouse in the Aspen Room from 6 - 7 p.m. Sept. 20 and Oct. 25 for those who want to hear more about the project. There will also be launch meetings and training with more information of dates and times on the website, thecause.ca.
