The Cochrane Planning Commission (CPC) denied an applicant’s request to reduce the amount of parking in its development plan by 25 per cent Nov. 16.
The request is in relation to a development permit application for an undeveloped parcel of land, south of the Cochrane Movie House.
Included in the application is a stand-alone restaurant including a drive-thru and a second building with multi-unit or leasable commercial space, including another eating establishment.
According to Riley Welden, senior planner with the Town of Cochrane, the applicant was directed to reduce the variance in an effort to ensure sufficient parking in the area.
The CPC is a town committee that “exercises development powers and duties on behalf of the Town of Cochrane.”
