Lynn Dove’s name is becoming a regular sight in the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series.
Already featured in two editions of the series, the words of the Cochrane author can most recently be found between the pages of Chicken Soup for the Soul: O Canada The Wonders of Winter.
“I’m so blessed that the publishers like my writing,” said Dove. “I just write from my heart and I write about what means the most to me — my family and my experiences.”
Both her family and her experience are included in her addition to the winter-themed book. Entitled “Polar Plunge,” the story tells the tale of the Dove family’s first winter on their acreage northwest of Cochrane.
“We moved with this notion of how wonderful life was going to be on our acreage,” she said. “But that first winter, if anything was going to go wrong, it went wrong. Comic relief is what got us through that first winter.”
Previously, Dove’s stories were published in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Parenthood and Chicken Soup for the Soul: Devotional Stories for Wives. Two more of her stories have been selected for future editions of the series.
Dove is best known as the author of the Wounded Trilogy, a three-part series geared towards youth and young adults.
The Canadian winter-themed book is a collection of 101 stories meant to warm the soul and serve as a reminder to appreciate the winter months. The essays include tales of adventure, bad weather and hockey.
