UPDATE: A tornado warning that was in effect for the Cochrane area has ended.
At 4:28 p.m., Environment Canada indicated that a thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado, damaging winds, large hail and intense localized rainfall was located 15 kilometres south of Cochrane, heading east at 20 km/h.
A thunderstorm watch is now in effect for Cochrane, Airdrie, Olds and Sundre.
