Extreme cold warning continues today in Cochrane

Environment Canada is warning Cochranites and residents of northwest Rocky View that will have to bundle up for at least another night.

An extreme cold warning will persist through today before moderating on Tuesday.

Environment Canada is expecting a mainly cloudy today with a 30 percent chance of flurries. Fog patches dissipating this morning. Wind northeast 20 km/h becoming light this morning. A high of -16 C is also indicated, but it will feel much colder.

Wind chill minus 41 this morning and minus 20 this afternoon which could produce frostbite in minutes. 

Tonight it will be mainly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of flurries. Winds up to 15 km/h and a low of -29 C are predicted. The wind chill will be -22 C this evening and -38 C overnight with a risk of frostbite.

Periods of snow are also predicted for Tuesday.
