Most Cochranites know who she is, which is precisely why her daughter wants you all to come celebrate her 80th birthday Aug. 19.
Maureen Wills has been a staple in the Cochrane community for several years, having given much of her time and energy to support various causes, volunteering her time with the Cochrane Foundation, starting the Frank Wills Memorial Hall Society (to name just a pair) and receiving a bevy of accolades along the way, including the Cochrane Community Awards’ highest honour, the Order of Cochrane.
Maureen’s daughter, Kathy Wills, has organized a party in her mother’s honour, to be held at none other than Frank Wills Hall two days following Maureen’s actual 80th birthday, which falls on Aug. 17.
“It’s a really great way to celebrate a really great woman,” Kathy said of her mother.
Everyone is welcome to ‘visit with mom’ from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m., with food and beverages available.
