Family Fun Run a reminder of Historic Ranche site's heritage

On Sept. 15, the Cochrane Fun Van presents a Family Fun Run at the Cochrane Historic Ranche site along with all its regular entertainment and then some for people of all ages.

Participants can choose the three or five kilometre distances to walk or run.

Deb Maxwell, recreation programmer with the Town of Cochrane, said the three-kilometre option would be fairly easy and accommodating for families with strollers, while the five would be a little more advanced with some hills.

“It will be very easy for families to do with a stroller,” Maxwell said.

Participants are invited to wear bright colours like the ones on the Fun Van.

She said one of the reasons behind the run was to remind people of the many activities that occur at the Ranche site.

“We wanted it to be outdoors and in nature, but with the fun of the Fun Van.”

A number of other festivities will also take place, such as face painting, a dance party, warm up games and more.

The run goes from 9 a.m. to noon and coincides with the Cochrane Farmer’s Market, also taking place that day.

Registration is $5. Participants can register either at the location or online at cochrane.ca/eservices.
