Fire advisory in effect starting Tuesday night

After hot, dry temperatures recently, Chief David Humphrey of the Cochrane Fire Services issued a fire advisory which will take effect as of 5 p.m. Tuesday evening.

After hot, dry temperatures recently, Chief David Humphrey of the Cochrane Fire Services issued a fire advisory which will take effect as of 5 p.m. Tuesday evening. The fire advisory states there is a moderate risk for fires and that residents should take extra precautions including soaking the area surrounding fire pits with water. Open air permit burning (burning without a container) is banned. The following exceptions are allowed: Town fire pits Backyard fire pits Charcoal briquette bbq Propane/natural gas bbq Propane/natural gas fire pit Outdoor fireplace Chiminea Fournos oven Indoor fireplace An update will be provided when there is a change to the advisory.
