Fireside School is “anticipated” to open on time, according to officials.
Following a meet and greet at Glenbow School last week discussing Cochrane’s newest kindergarten to Grade 7 school, officials said construction was on track but were hesitant to confirm Fireside School will be open by next September.
“We anticipate that Fireside will open on time in September 2017 – it is too early in the construction process to say otherwise,” Angela Spanier, Rocky View Schools (RVS) director of communications, stated in an email.
She did not give any additional details regarding the current stage of construction.
The future principal of the school, Thomas Elbel, and other officials discussed the process of enrolling children in school – paperwork to be done at Glenbow Elementary.
If the school does happen to be delayed, a temporary satellite location will set up using portables at another school location.
The estimated population of the school is 550, with a capacity of 800.
