The Foothills Art Club is hosting its annual spring show and sale April 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cochrane Alliance Church.
This year’s show will feature a free draw of an original painting by Karen Stienstra. Refreshments will be provided.
The club meets on Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church.
Foothills Art Club holds a fall and spring art show and sale each year, with all members being eligible to take part. According to their website they have monthly scheduled “open-studios” or “paintouts” at Beaupre Hall, west of Cochrane, as well as outside “plein-air” painting sessions during the summer.
The club holds guest presentations and demonstrations by members throughout the year, along with weekend workshops led by professional instructors. They also hold monthly “theme” nights when members share a special technique or resource and “critique” nights for members to bring their work for suggestions or feedback.
