The annual Foothills Ride to Horizon hits the roads this weekend.

The ride is open to 50 riders who want to help raise funds to support Easter Seals Camp Horizon. Those participating will have a chance to ride with John Barlow, member of Parliament for Foothills, as he will also be joining the ride.

Camp Horizon specializes in outdoor and adventure-based programs for children, youth and adults with disabilities and medical conditions offering a variety of outdoor activities including high-ropes challenge courses, swinging on a giant swing, and rock climbs.

Riders will start from Bar U Ranch National Historical Site at 9 a.m. and will ride approximately 85 km, finishing at Bragg Creek at approximately 4 p.m.

The Kinsmen Club of Calgary built Easter Seals Camp Horizon in 1965, located 10 km southwest of Bragg Creek, off of Highway 66 – the camp hosts an average of 1,200 campers annually on the 62 acre lot in Kananaskis Country.

The Ride to Horizon takes place on July 30 and costs $100 to register, with a fundraising minimum of $500.
