Found Books & Shop is excited to announce FoundFest, a three-day event celebrating the dynamic fusion of spoken word, music and literature. Set to take place from March 1 to March 3, 2024, FoundFest promises an immersive experience of raw conversations, mental health awareness, and the powerful synergy of books and music.

Dubbed FoundFest 2024: Unveiling the Raw Power of Storytelling, a local Albertan musician/poet will open for each of the main speakers.

Found Books & Shop owner Julia Lutchman has made her space a haven for literature enthusiasts and music aficionados alike.

With a spotlight on the spoken word, the festival will feature local musicians and authors delving into the depths of their raw experiences and sharing their poignant stories.

She hopes the keynote presentations by influential figures will elevate FoundFest to new heights.

The lineup includes renowned artists and advocates for mental health: Vivek Shraya, Julie Van Rosendaal, Dallas Smith and Joshua Whitehead. Each speaker brings a unique perspective, contributing to the festival's overarching theme of fostering open and authentic dialogues surrounding mental health issues.

Lutchman expressed her excitement about bringing the community together through the power of words and music.

"FoundFest is a celebration of the things I hold dear – books, music and community. It's more than an event; it's an opportunity to create connections and experience the raw beauty of conversations that matter. In today's fast-paced, virtual world, meaningful dialogues are more important than ever," she said.

FoundFest attendees can expect a diverse range of activities, including live performances, book readings, panel discussions, and interactive sessions. The festival aims to create a space where individuals can engage with thought-provoking content while fostering a sense of community and understanding.
