Fruit and veg spill from tipped semi-trailer

It was a formidable fruit and vegetable buffet after a tractor-trailer carrying produce spilled its load on the highway when attempting to take the Highway 22 exit south off the Trans-Canada Sept. 29.

Cochrane RCMP Sgt. Darleen White said the trailer of the semi shifted when the driver, who was headed eastbound on Highway 1, took the Highway 22 exit, causing the rig to flip and empty onto the road around 8:45 a.m.

In addition to the driver, two other occupants of the semi were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

No other vehicles were involved and no charges have been laid.

A cyclist was treated for minor injuries after a collision with a motorcyclist Sept. 26.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Springbank Road and Highway 22.

The cyclist was heading south toward Bragg Creek when the collision occurred at approximately 11:20 a.m.

No charges have been laid at this time.
