Kelly Corbett, 52, will appear before the Cochrane Provincial Court Nov. 4, facing two charges of mischief.
The GlenEagles resident was reported to have been intoxicated and exposing her naked body on her front lawn on two separate occasions — once July 13 and the second time Sept. 29.
Cochrane RCMP officers responded to a complaint around 10:45 p.m. Sept. 29, alleging that Corbett was naked, intoxicated and causing a public disturbance on her front lawn by dancing, waving and shining a flashlight into bedroom windows of neighbours.
Officers were able to view footage captured by neighbours on a security camera and were able to determine that the accused was behaving indecently.
She was arrested and charged with her second count of mischief in three months.
Cochrane RCMP are seeking public assistance in identifying unknown subjects who broke into, burned and caused some $20,000 in damages to a 1995 motor home owned by a 70-year-old Calgary man.
The incident took place sometime between 5 p.m. Sept. 22 and 10 a.m. Sept. 23 at the Ghost Lake Provincial Campground. The owner left the RV parked at the campground overnight, to return in the morning to the discovery that the door of the RV had been pried open and the vehicle had been gutted — including dumping a can of gasoline inside and setting the interior on fire. An arson investigation ensued and the file remains open for investigation.
The Cochrane RCMP can be reached at 403-851-8000 or persons with information can contact Crimestoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
Cochrane Fire Services were first on scene, responding to a call that came in around 6:40 a.m. Oct. 6 of a structure fire in nearby Morley.
Capt. Jory Jenson with Cochrane Fire said that upon arrival, it was observed that the structure fire, due to high winds, had spread to a grass fire.
“We were able to suppress it, but the structure did burn to the ground,” said Jenson, adding that the structure was an (abandoned) old school; there were no nearby residential buildings.
Due to the ability of a grass fire to spread so rapidly, scene commander Jenson called on both Exshaw and Rocky View County Fire for back up.
“At the peak, there were around 20 firefighters and nine rigs on scene,” he said, adding that the low levels of precipitation and warm weather maintain October as a risky month for grass fires and that people should remain cognizant of this.
