Lock up your Christmas goodies. The Grinch is coming.
The Nan Boothby Memorial Library in Cochrane is inviting guests to a Christmas celebration, or “Whobilation” at the library on Dec. 19.
“It should be a lot of fun,” explained Librarian Sara Kundrik.
“The Grinch is iconic and Dr. Seuss is one of the go-to for children’s literature.”
The Cochrane RCMP have also, apparently, been hot on the Grinch’s tail for trying to steal Christmas and are scheduled to stop by for a visit to read some books, while in pursuit of the grumpy green guy.
“The RCMP are sending over a constable to do the story-telling, which will be amazing,” Kundrik exclaimed.
“It is wonderful, especially for younger boys to have a masculine figure showing them that reading is fun and something men can do, as well as women. It is also important to get those community heroes promoting literacy.”
So come enjoy a story, Christmas cookie decorating, and Whoville Lego contest. If he’s not running too quickly, you can even get your photograph taken with the Grinch. The entire family is welcome.
The Event goes 10 a.m. Dec. 19 at Nan Boothby Memorial Library, 405 Railway St. SW, Cochrane.
Other Christmas activities include a showing of the Christmas Carol movie, on Dec. 22 starting at 6 p.m. Hot chocolate will be served and there will be board games set up for the family.
