Whether you own a steed or simply like to ride, the Ride for the Ranch is returning for a second year and is inviting local equestrians to saddle up in support of the Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation.
The full-day trail ride throughout the park aims to showcase the landscape of Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park and brings riders by tipi rings, historical ruins and other landmarks. The day includes lunch, dinner and the cowboy poetry of Perry Jacobsen.
Participants can bring their own horses for the ride or have ones provided for them. Separate tickets are available for dinner and the poetry reading.
“To travel on horseback through the hills of the park, to see the history of the land, this is truly a remarkable way to experience and support Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park,” said Tara McFadden, community engagement and development officer with the park.
Funds raised from the ride, which takes place Aug. 22, will go to the Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation and work in support of the provincial park, including park programming, research and fundraising for the Calgary to Cochrane Trail.
Tickets are $1,200 with your own horse and $1,500 with a horse supplied. The dinner and poetry reading are $150.
New this year is the sponsor support of Fiera Capital Private Wealth.
