The Cochrane and Area Humane Society is holding its Christmas Party open house on Dec. 9 from noon to 5 pm.
They are inviting Cochranites to come and find out why the holiday season can be a great time to adopt a new companion from an animal shelter or donate to help the animals in care this Christmas.
Visitors will be invited to take a stroll through the shelter and visit residents.
People can also help the humane society stuff the shelter van with items from the wish list, like wet kitten and wet dog food, Mr. Clean, bleach, Easy Walk Harnesses, Royal Canin dry dog, puppy, kitten and cat food, dog toys and treats, clumping and non-clumping cat litter, puppy and kitten milk replacement (Royal Canin, KMR, Esbilac) and puppy pee pads.
A number of the wish list items can also be purchased at local pet supply stores like Global Pet Foods Cochrane and Pet Valu Cochrane – these businesses are great supporters of the humane society.
