World religions

The tenth annual World Religions Conference is set to take place at the Cochrane RancheHouse on April 26. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event will run from 7 to 9 p.m. This year’s event is themed fundamentals of establishing lasting peace. Admission is free and refreshments will be served. Registration isn’t mandatory but recommended. Vist www.IslamEvents.ca/Calgary to register.  

Trade Show

The Cochrane Trade Show is the largest annual event in town and will be held May 5 and 6. The event will be utilizing the new curling rink and Totem 1 (Hockey Arena 1) in the Spray Lake Sawmills Recreation Centre. There are daily prizes, silent auction, children’s entertainment, samples, and so much more. Don’t forget to check back at www.cochranechamber.ca for updates.

Call for photographers

Anyone interested in participating in the Cochrane Camera Club’ project “A Day in the Life” has to register by April 30. Starting at midnight on June 2, local photographers will set out to photograph the lives of Cochranites and capture the spirit of what it means to work, live and play in Cochrane. If anyone including a business or any group would like to be a part of this project, email [email protected] and provide your name, contact person (for a group or business) phone number and email address and a project leader will contact you.
