The annual Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) Jacket Racket is back Oct. 27.

Families hoping to find the perfect fit to keep warm this winter can head to the Cochrane Alliance Church between 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for the biggest jacket swap of the year.

Those donating their gently used gear can drop their jackets off at Safeway, the Alliance Church or the Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane by Oct. 25.

“It’s a family event, so the Parent Link Centre will be there, with different activities for kids and there will also be a free barbecue,” said Rebca Zawde, FCSS community resource worker.

The goal is to collect some 500 jackets for donation.

“Anyone who needs a winter jacket can come down, pick one up and have a meal at the same time.”
