Life-sized Candy Land! Where? The Nan Boothby Memorial Library. The local library is inviting families to stop by Jan. 2 to play giant board games, including Candy Land, Scrabble and chess.
“I think it should be amazingly fun. That way it’s right after the holidays so if anyone is getting the January blues they can come indoors and it will be warm,” explained librarian Sara Kundrik. “It should be a lot of fun.”
The idea was inspired by the library director, after the giant chess and Scrabble games were donated by the Friends of Nan Boothby Memorial Library.
“We are grateful for the friends for buying us some giant games,” Kundrik said. All games will be set up for anyone in the family, of any age, to play with – Candy Land as an easier game for younger ones, while chess and Scrabble will be geared towards to older ones.
“It will be amazing – plus I always loved Candy Land,” said Kundrik.
The Nan Boothby Memorial library will be open Jan. 2 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., located at 405 Railway St W.
