Individuals who want to sign up to volunteer for Cochrane Light-Up will now be able to do so online.
Organizers are offering want-to-be volunteers a chance to choose their preferred position on a ‘live’ spreadsheet available on the event’s website.
The 2015 event will need approximately 70 volunteers, said volunteer organizer Margi Storey.
- Available positions include:
- Registration desk
- Supply runners
- Hayride assistants
- Children’s tent helpers (must have clean police record check)
- Barricades and traffic control
- Runners
- Set-up and take down
- Fireworks security
Registration forms and sign-up can be found at cochranelightup.com/volunteers. Organizers encourage potential volunteers to sign up earlier rather than later so the Light-Up crew has a better idea of what positions need to be filled – although Storey said they would be accepting volunteers online up until the day of and people are also more than welcome to show up and ask if any help is needed.
Cochrane Light-Up 2015 will be held Saturday, Nov. 21 from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. along historic Main Street.
