For those interested in starting a new tradition this Halloween look no further. Seniors at numerous establishments throughout town have been preparing for trick-or-treaters.
"On Halloween kids are welcome to come and residents love to see them all dressed in their costumes and they hand out goodie bags," said an employee with Big Hill Lodge.
Many seniors who would have handed out candy in their past still continue to do so at the homes. They enjoy seeing all the spooky, creative costumes as well as the cute little ones that come through the door. This has provided an opportunity to continue to engage in life events they find exciting after leaving their homes. The ones that want to participate do so and those who prefer not to, don't. Staff will also be in on the fun as they are encouraged to dress up and let that Halloween spirit flow.
If you have a newborn or smaller child Grande Avenue Village will be handing out candy earlier in the day at 1:30 p.m. Points West Living will have people handing out candy from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Big Hill Lodge and Evergreen Manor have asked for trick-or-treaters to come out in full force after the residents have dinner at 5 p.m. A representative from Bethany Cochrane mentioned they are excited and will have candy at the ready regardless of what time families choose to come.
This Halloween head out and make someones day by including Cochrane's senior community on the spook-tacular fun.
