It’s only been a couple of weeks since A Taste of Cochrane saw 18 local food and beverage vendors offering samplings to event participants. But event coordinator Brooks Tower sees no reason not to keep the theme alive year-round.
In the spirit of promoting local nosh and nibbles, A Taste of Cochrane is kicking off November with the first Mighty Monthly Giveaway.
“The Mighty Monthly Giveaway is all about reminding people once again just how many great food and drink establishments we have here in Cochrane. It’s something that anyone can enter and it’s a nice little way to treat yourself to some food or drink,” said Tower.
Participating businesses will pay $5 a month to go into a pool. People are then encouraged to visit tasteofcochrane.ca and enter a free draw. Each month, a winner is selected, taking home the prize of a gift certificate to one of the participating businesses at random.
“The whole idea behind this is absolutely awesome,” said Kelly Joyner, business participant and proprietor of Tea…and Other Things. “I really want to see people go online and participate.”
Tower will be running the Mighty Monthly Giveaway, with the assistance of Ronnie Knowles from Big Hill Pizza and Tom’s Hideout.
