Motorcyclist dies from collision

A 62-year-old male from Calgary died May 20 as the result of a collision with a guard rail while travelling on a motorcycle on Highway 66. Cochrane RCMP and emergency services responded to the incident at approximately 1:30 p.m.

The collision took place about three kilometres west of Elbow Falls, which is located southwest of Bragg Creek.

The motorcyclist was travelling in the westbound lane when the driver lost control, colliding with the guard rail.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision is currently under investigation; alcohol and speed are not considered to be factors.

The name of the deceased is being withheld until next-of-kin is notified.
