A ribbon was held on Saturday, June 7 in the Greystone community of Cochrane to mark the official opening of the new Greystone Pickleball Courts. The event was attended by hundreds of excited Cochranites as well as Mayor Jeff Genung, Josh Hagen, VP of Development for Burns-West and Greg Young, president of the Cochrane Pickleball Club.
After speeches by Genung, Young and Hagen the ribbon was formally cut on the 20-court facility and eager pickleballers streamed onto grounds to inaugurate the state of the art facility, which was paid for in part by a grant from the provincial government. The new pickleball courts are just one part of a much larger regional park amenity which includes basketball courts, a baseball field and a playground area.
