Dr. Von Houligan’s Carnival of Calamities will roll into Cochrane May 30 and the Town of Cochrane is inviting families of all ages to attend.
The event will feature a range of carnival activities, such as acrobats, jugglers, and carnival games.
Other activities include face painting, balloons and concession.
An 80 by 100 foot pavilion will be set up to safeguard against unpredictable weather.
The year’s event (formerly known as the Children’s Festival) format has changed with three different show times – 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – and a move from being held on the May long weekend, which saw many families unable to attend.
The event’s Mitford Park location is also a change from the Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre from last year.
Organizers are asking people interested in attending to buy tickets in advance since each show is limited to 250 seats.
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door; free for ages two or younger. They can be purchased in person at the Town of Cochrane’s Recreation and Culture office, Family and Community Support Services and Big Hill Leisure Pool.
