Cochrane RCMP continue to investigate a serious assault on an unidentified male that appeared to have taken place on the morning of March 29, 15 km west of Cochrane.
Local officers responded to a call at 8:39 a.m., where a witness travelling on Hermitage Road reported to have come across two males who appeared to have assaulted a third male at the underpass of Hermitage Road and Hwy 1.
The witness believed the male had been seriously assaulted and injured. The witness then drove to a safe location and called police.
Upon arriving on scene, police discovered forensic evidence indicative of a serious assault.
The witness reported the victim and the two alleged assailants had departed the scene, heading east on Hwy 1. Investigators are searching for a grey four-door car which may have been involved in this incident.
