COCHRANE— On Monday (April 26) management of the Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre were informed that a staff member at the facility tested positive for COVID-19.
The staff of the Centre completed thorough contract tracing and did not identify any “close contact” exposure with any members of the team, or the general public.
CEO of the Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre, Blair Felesky issued a statment saying, “It is important to know that this employee does not have direct contact with any participants of programming and/or user groups and the employee’s own exposure did not occur at SLSFSC.”
The reason for the notification being made public, Felesky said, was done as a precaution and for the sake of transparency.
Felesky noted that he felt the team member did everything correctly and that a positive case at the facility was not a matter of if, but when.
He also wanted to remind the public to be diligent in adhering to guidelines— In physical distancing, use of masks and self-monitoring for symptoms of COVID-19.
