The Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane and Area is inviting the public to take part in its Capitol One Race for Kids to help support its efforts aimed at “the healthy social, emotional and physical development of young people.”

The event will take place June 6 and features teams of four completing a gamut of different challenges and “checkpoints” such as blind-folded kayaking, shaving cream cheese toss and building marshmallow-spaghetti towers.

After the race, participants are invited to an after-party, which will feature food, drinks, entertainment and a special awards presentation where prizes will be handed out to top teams.

According to the event’s website, Capital One Race for Kids is an urban adventure race where you have a chance to return to the best adventures of childhood, all while raising funds for all kids to have the same opportunity.

The Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane and Area (BGCCA) started in the summer of 1992 and officially became a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada in 1997. Serving children, youth and families across Cochrane and western Rocky View County, BGCCA services reach children, youth and families in Cochrane and five surrounding communities.
