The suspects broke into the store on March 8 between 4:30-5:30 a.m. RCMP said the suspects entered through the front door and stole an undisclosed amount of electronics. The value of the stolen merchandise is yet to be determined.

Cochrane RCMP are in the process of seizing the surveillance video, with photos of the suspects to be released.

Cochrane RCMP are seeking assistance locating a tailgate thief, after 6-8 tailgates were stolen on March 5.

At approximately 12:15 p.m. witnesses reported a male suspect taking tailgates from vehicles parked on the access gravel road for the Jumping Pound Petro Canada and then leave, heading east towards Calgary on Highway 1.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set male, approximately 5-foot-11, 220 pounds, goatee and balding - possibly in his late 50s. The male was wearing a dark sweatshirt and blue jeans, and has a large stomach. The male was driving a rust/orange coloured Chevrolet Avalanche with a golden retriever in the front seat.

There have been a number of complaints of tailgate thefts on that access road in the last month. This area also has a high volume of thefts from vehicles as it is used for day parking.

The RCMP would like to remind everyone to not leave items in their vehicles when left unattended and to lock their tailgates.

If you have any information on this or any other incident, please contact the Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-TIPS.

Cochrane RCMP assisted Rocky View County Fire Service after a grass fire got out of control.

On March 7, what started with a resident burning garbage turned into embers igniting a grass fire next to Highway 22, between Highway 567 and Township Road 272.

Traffic had to be diverted around Highway 22 for a couple of hours while RVC Fire Services got the fire under control. The fire burned over one kilometre and came close to a structure. The county is currently investigating if the resident had a burn permit or not, with possible charges to follow.

On March 10 at approximately 3:20 a.m., the Cochrane RCMP responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover on Highway 1 near Range Road 33. An eastbound blue Ford Escape drifted off the road to the left, then over-corrected across both eastbound lanes of Hwy 1 before entering the south ditch and rolling over. At no point was Highway 1 closed or was traffic flow compromised during the investigation.

The female driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was transported by EMS to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation into the cause of the collision is continuing.
