Cochrane RCMP has charged a resident of the Siksika Nation following investigation into the April 21 break-in at the Chief Chiniki Gas Bar on the Stoney Nakoda First Nation.

Darcy Redcrow, 38, is facing one count of break and enter of a business — he’s set to appear in court May 6, said Cpl. Greg Stannard of the local detachment.

Redcrow allegedly used a crowbar to gain entry to the Stoney Nation gas bar in the early morning hours of April 21 — making off with cartons of cigarettes in a truck bearing a stolen licence plate.

The accused was arrested in Calgary April 23. In addition to the Cochrane-laid break-and-enter offence, Stannard said Redcrow is facing eight charges out of Calgary, including theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of possession of stolen property and dangerous driving.
