RCMP warn of organized house breaking gang at work in Calgary area

RCMP in Strathmore, Chestermere and Okotoks have responded to residential break and enters and thefts from vehicles believed to be work of same suspects.

Calgary area RCMP are warning local residents of a crime spree in the region by what is believed to be the same individuals.

According to police, over the past few weeks the RCMP in Strathmore, Chestermere and Okotoks have responded to residential break and enters and thefts from vehicles believed to have been committed by the same suspects.

Investigations have determined that the victims vehicles are entered unlawfully, and their garage door openers and vehicle registration information taken. Later, these victims are targeted for residential break and enters. For some incidents, the vehicles were targeted while the victims were camping, and when they returned home, they noticed that their residence had been unlawfully entered.  

While the investigation continues, police are releasing surveillance photos of three suspects and a suspect vehicle linked to these crimes.

In order to protect yourself, RCMP are asking the public to:

  • Secure your vehicle, even when camping or in remote locations
  • Consider not keeping garage door openers and documents with your home address in your vehicle
  • Ensure all thefts from vehicles are reported to the police

RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the vehicle and suspects.
